The general district court handles criminal misdemeanors, violations of local ordinances, traffic infractions, and preliminary hearings in felony charges.
It has authority to try a full range of cases, both civil and criminal, jury and non-jury. Civil cases include a wide variety of business disputes, personal injury, and domestic relations cases. The Court hears felony criminal cases.
This court has jurisdiction over juvenile matters, offenses committed by adults against juveniles (youth under the age of 18), and family matters, except divorce.
